Sustainability and Envrionmental Awareness
There is an emerging consensus to move with some urgency towards more sustainable lifestyles if future generations are to enjoy a quality of life. Raising the achievements of young learners through Sustainability and Environmental Education enables social learning where new ideas and practices can be created together. Promoting and supporting environmental education; our action learning and awareness-raising activities outside the classroom can easily be integrated into curriculum subjects such as geography, science and in whole school cross-curricular areas such as citizenship.
The key motivation to embrace the environment through school improvement goals is ‘imagining a better future’. Having an environmental strategy in place can positively impact on the community. Our range of ‘green’ events inspire and empower Learners with a ‘hands on’ approach to learning about the environment, providing a sense of responsibility that maintains involvement whilst recognising how it will help them.
Teaching The Teachers
Our Teaching the Teachers programme engages teachers in the significance and wider issues pertaining to sustainability, encouraging confidence and understanding to effectively deliver Environmental Education to meet sustainability goals and objectives.
